I have helped clients deal with ongoing pain from previous accidents, as well as acute pain from fresh injuries. I have worked in conjunction with other health providers they see to best treat what ails them most effectively.
At my best, I have left work feeling like I really helped a person feel better about themselves. Whether it’s an emotional or physical change they experienced, I always feel so happy for them, and grateful to be a part of their process.
For me, it was always therapy. It just took me a little bit to narrow it down to touch therapy versus talk therapy. I started off pursuing social services with the intention of becoming a middle school counselor. After graduating with my B.S. I decided that I wasn’t ready to jump into a masters program geared towards education. I was still very interested in the human body, (specifically anatomy, physiology, psychology), but I was interested in health and wellness in other facets as well. The fall following college graduation I enrolled at The University of Aesthetics in Chicago, and pursued health and wellness as it pertains to skincare. I loved the art and science behind the beauty industry, so becoming an esthetician was a perfect choice.
Fast forward 12 years, and I’m living in Colorado with my small nuclear family, and again considering a masters program. After looking into all things therapy, I found myself on The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy website and felt a lightbulb go off. After more than a decade in the skin care world, and having worked alongside many talented massage therapists, I found myself feeling called to look into this career. I met with the owner of the school Jill Berkana, and she and I had a very deep conversation about what her program consisted of. It was incredible. I knew I had found my new path.
Outside of work I spend the majority of my time with my two littles, Oliver and Sonora. My family lives elsewhere, so we are building our Colorado family into something spectacular. I enjoy learning about the land, and history in this state. I hope to explore more of the west via kayaks, tours, hikes, and mountain tops. I love arts, crafts, music, dancing, traveling, outdoor adventures, and time with people.
